2 Days Desert Tour

Day 1: Fes » Azrou (Cedar forest) » Midelt » Erfoud » Merzouga (Night in Desert Camp) [467 Km]
The private driver for your 2-Day desert tour from Fes to Merzouga will pick you from your hotel at 8:30 am to transport you to the desert village of Merzouga via Azrou, the cedar forests, and Ziz Gorges.

This is an interesting road and you will stop for lunch in a Berber café. Arrive at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes and take camel with guide camel, and have overnight in the middle of dunes.

Day 2: Merzouga Sahara Desert » Ziz Valley » Fes [469 km]
An early morning wake-up is recommended to assist sunrise from the top of the Chebbi sand dunes. Before you camel trek back to the departure point where you will meet your driver, you will take a shower and enjoy a Berber and delicious breakfast served by friendly Berber people at the Merzouga desert camp.

After breakfast and shower in the camp, you will leave to Fes via the High Atlas mountains. On the way, we’ll pass through Rissani, Erfoud, Errachidia, and Midelt. A Date with a stop for lunch and pictures of wild monkeys on the Cedar forests of Azrou before arriving in Fes, where we’ll leave you at your riad or Hotel.

3 Days Desert Tour

Day 1: Fes » Azrou (Cedar forest) » Midelt » Erfoud » Merzouga Sahara [467 Km]

Our 3-day tour Fes to Merzouga desert will starts from your hotel or riad in Fez driving across the Middle Atlas and cedar forest. Along the way we pass through Ifrane, which is a famous ski resort, then Midelt, famous for minerals and apples. We continue via Ziz valley to reach Erfoud, famous for fossil products, and then to Rissani.

Then, once we arrive in the Erg Chebbi desert where we meet our desert guide. We prepare for a camel ride across the Merzouga sand dunes and we enjoy sleeping in Sahara desert camp where the end of 1st day of our 3 days desert tour from Fez.

Day 2: Merzouga desert tour: Erg Chebbi » Nomad families » Merzouga [50 km]
On the second day of the 3-Day Tour Fes to Merzouga Desert, it worth waking up early in the morning so you can experience the beauty of a desert sunrise and the amazing silence of the Sahara, this is a wonderful time to experience the silence and the changing colors as the sun rises on the dunes.

After coming back to the camp where breakfast will be waiting and a hot shower to freshen you up for the day´s adventure, you will then ride your camel back to the departure point.

We will pick you up and start your Merzouga desert tour exploring all interesting sites around Erg Chebbi dunes such as the seasonal Lake of Merzouga named “Lake Sirji”, Khamlia village for GNAWA music, Mines for a variety of stones called “Mefes” to nomad families ending by a visit to RISSANI Market, the biggest souk in the area.

Arriving in the afternoon then free time for the rest of the day before spending the night at a local hotel/ Riad in Merzouga desert.

Day 3: Merzouga desert » Ziz Valley » Midelt » Fes [467 Km]
Today, you will say goodbye to the desert and you will surely have great memories, leaving to Fes through Erfoud a small town known for carving marble stones and fossils, and enjoy the beautiful Ziz valley and palm groves sceneries right up to Midelt another small city known for its Apple production.

You will probably take a short break here in a restaurant for lunch or in a small town not far away called Zaida.

Then continue our way back to Fes toward Azrou cedar forest. Arrive in Fes around 6 p.m. drop you off at your accommodation where our 3-Day Tour Fes to Merzouga Desert ends.

4-Day Desert Tour

Day 1: Fes » Azrou (Cedar forest) » Midelt » Erfoud » Merzouga [467 Km]We will pick you up from your hotel or Riad then starting our Fes to desert trip 4 days 3 nights drive south to Azrou via Ifrane (The little Switzerland of Morocco) and then to the Middle Atlas mountains stopping by cedar forest, you will be able to take some fascinating photos with the Barbarian Apes before you continue the way through the Atlas Mountains enjoying the landscapes of Midelt.

After lunch, we’ll continue our journey through the Ziz Valley to Erfoud, Rissani, and Merzouga. On our arrival there will be welcomed by a cup of tea and overnight at the Hotel/Riad.

Day 2: Explore Merzouga area & Camel Trek (Night in Desert Camp) [45 km]
After breakfast, we’ll start exploring the area, by visiting the village of black people originally from Mali to enjoy their music and the way they live.

After that, we will drive to Miffis Mines to explore how they work over there before getting behind the Dunes in a full desert with charming views where we will sit for a warm cup of tea with the local Bedouins, before returning back to the hotel.

After a rest, your local guides will teach you how to mount and dismount and other handy camel-related safety tips then you begin exploring the mysterious sand-sea of the Erg-Chebbi. Overnight in a Berber tent.

Day 3: Merzouga » Ziz Vally » Todra Gorges & Dades Valley [255 km]
We will make up early in the morning to watch the best sunrise of your life and casting different shadows and colors over the sea of sand dunes, the highest in Morocco, before returning to our desert hotel, after breakfast, We will continue to Tinghir and the stunning Todra Gorge the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco.

The gorge is a great spot for hiking and relaxing on the edge of the river or sampling some local Berber delicacies. After lunch in the heart of the gorge, we’ll drive through the Dades Valley where we will end our day spending the night in a nice hotel located on the top of the mountain.

Day 4: Dades Valley » Ziz Valley » Midelt » Fes [472 Km]
After a delicious local breakfast, we pack up and start our 4-Day Desert Tour from Fes to Merzouga back to Fes. From Todgha Gorge we pass through palm groves and follow the Ziz Valley where we will stop in a panoramic spot to have tea and admire the scene before us.

The mountains surround us as we travel northwards to Midelt, you may see nomadic settlements in the fields with their goat-hair tents. After lunch, we continue our four-day tour traveling through the Middle Atlas Mountains and forests, you can stop to feed the mischievous Barbary Monkeys in the cedar trees and we will stop for coffee in the alpine town of Ifrane.

By late afternoon we will reach Fes where we say our goodbyes.
